Center to host World Trade event

World Trade Celebration 2010 will take place from 4 to 10 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 20, at The Buffalo Niagara Convention Center, 153 Franklin St., Buffalo. World Trade Celebration is the region's largest annual business networking event honoring companies and leaders who embrace international opportunities presented in today's global environment. Guests speakers will include John Luther of Dunkin’ Donuts and Baskin-Robbins and Jim Tetreault of Ford Motor Company. For more details, call 852-7160.

Volunteers needed

for Red Cross

program

The Greater Buffalo Chapter of the American Red Cross is currently seeking volunteers for its Ombudsman Program. The program provides advocacy services responsive to the complaints and problems of residents living in long-term care facilities. Ombudsmen must be at least 21 years of age and have strong verbal and written communication skills. Regularly scheduled training is provided. The next scheduled training program will be held from Sept. 27 through 29 and Oct. 4 through 6. The classes run each day from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will be held at the American Red Cross, Greater Buffalo Chapter at 786 Delaware Ave. Interested parties should call 878-2385 for more information.
