Schimminger receives business award

The National Federation of Independent Businesses has named Assemblyman Robin Schimminger, D-C-I-Kenmore, a “Guardian of Small Business.”
The NFIB recognized Schimminger with the honor and said in a written letter that it was because of the assemblyman’s exceptional voting record on issues that affect small businesses and for his leadership and support of New York’s independent companies. The NFIB is the state’s and nation’s largest small business advocacy organization.
“I am honored to again receive the Guardian of Small Business award from the NFIB,” said Schimminger, chair of the Assembly Committee on Economic Development, Job Creation, Commerce and Industry. “Small businesses are a key factor in the survival of Western New York, employing thousands of area people and ensuring that the economy not only survives, but also thrives.”
Schimminger said it is imperative that the state Legislature “vote smart” when it comes to legislation that could negatively impact small businesses, especially in this region.
“I am committed to continuing the fight for the ‘little guy’ of the business industry. After all, it’s the ‘little guys and gals’ who provide millions of jobs to struggling middle-class families and who provide economic relief to the ailing economy.”
The NFIB is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization whose mission is to promote and protect the interest of small businesses nationwide.
