Town of Tonawanda Senior Center
The Town of Tonawanda Senior Center, 291 Ensminger Road, announced that the following events will take place at the Center:
Maintenance work — The Senior Center, including the Ellwood and Mang branches, will be closed through Monday, Sept. 6 so that painting and general cleaning projects can be completed in preparation for the Fall.
Free lawyer counseling, 2 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 8. Anthony Cerrone, an attorney and counselor, will be available to answer questions regarding outdated wills, an executor, cost of will, trusts and more. Call 874-3266? or stop into the senior center to make an appointment.
AARP 55 Alive Defensive Driving Course being held Mondays, Oct. 4 and Nov. 1. Call the office to register at 874-3266.
Monday, Sept. 6 The Senior Center is closed to recognize Labor Day.

Bridge lessons, 9 a.m. in room 1. Woodshop , 9:15 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. in room 6. Euchre, 9:30 a.m. in room 3. Scat Group, 1 p.m. in room 7. Scrabble, 1 p.m. in room 1.
Schofield Adult Wellness Center
The following events will be held at Schofield’s Adult Wellness Center, 3333 Elmwood Ave., in the Town of Tonawanda:
“Eating healthy on a Budget,” 2 p.m. Sept. 22. Dr. Jennifer Williamson, ND will present an interactive lecture on the best foods to buy that will create the biggest impact on wellness. Participants will learn tips on how to shop smart and which super-foods will get individuals back on the road to healthy living.
“Excuses Be Gone” at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 29. Participants will learn from Ginny Lyons, R.N., women's health specialist, regarding how long established habitual thoughts you may be unaware of — manifesting as excuses — can keep you from becoming all that you can be. For this class only, call Health Connections at 447-6205 to register.
