Thursday, Aug. 26

There was a report that an allegedly drunk, elderly male had broken a window at an Eggert Road church. According to the police report, the man used a bottle of Jack Daniels to break the window. The man reportedly told police that God told him to do it. Police were able to contact the man’s daughter, who stated that he suffers from Alzheimer’s disease and had left his residence without notifying anyone.

Friday, Aug. 27

• A Ransomville, N.Y., man was charged with possession of burglar’s tools after police saw him trying to open the driver’s side door of a vehicle parked on Henderson Avenue. When an officer questioned the man, who was dressed all in black, he was out smoking a cigarette. However, police found a screwdriver, metal pick and pliers in his pockets. The man then claimed he was working on his car earlier in the day and forgot to take the items out of his pants.

Sunday, Aug. 22

• There was a report of a person sleeping on a front porch at a Victoria Boulevard residence. An officer reported locating a male on a porch who stated that he was waiting for his mother to answer the door. The male said he would sleep at a friend’s house until later in the morning.

• There was a report that a male wearing sandals, shorts and a white T-shirt was taking pictures of items inside the trunk of a vehicle parked on Eugene Avenue. An officer reported that the man was taking pictures of items that he planned to sell on eBay.

Monday, Aug. 23

• There was a report of someone possibly driving while intoxicated in a gray vehicle traveling erratically on Military Road. An officer located the vehicle and reported that the driver said he had a choking spell, which caused him to drive erratically.

• There was a report of a dead chicken in the middle of the roadway on Washington Avenue. An officer reported that the chicken would be disposed of by the Department of Public Works.

Tuesday, Aug. 24

• A Town of Tonawanda police officer reported that a group was gathered to watch a fight between two females at a school playground. A caller reported that a group of approximately 30 youths dispersed after she said she was calling the police. An officer reported that the remaining youths at the scene were advised.

• There was a report that a youth was operating a go-cart on West Girard Boulevard. An officer advised the youth not to ride the go-cart in the street and told him to take it home.

Wednesday, Aug. 25

• A female reported that there were men at her house who had drugged her husband and that she couldn’t raise him. She declined first aid. An officer reported that the man was OK and that he was just sleepy.

• A resident of a Delaware Avenue apartment complex reported that the neighbor’s apartment door was open, and it appeared that someone had ransacked the place. An officer walked through the apartment with a maintenance worker, who stated that the resident living there always had a messy apartment.

• A teen wearing a yellow T-shirt was reportedly swinging a purple bat toward other teens on Mang Avenue. An officer reported that the male was just playing around and that he was trying to hit plastic bottles.

Thursday, Aug. 26

• There was a report that a person was threatened by someone carrying an axe on Delwood Road.

• A suspicious male was riding a bicycle up and down Delwood Road for at least an hour. An officer advised the male to go home and stay home.
