Town woman’s body found in Warsaw waters
Village of Warsaw police have yet to reveal the identity of a female found dead Thursday morning in a Wyoming County waterway, but it is known that she was a Town of Tonawanda resident.
According to police, the woman was reported missing last week by family members, who stated that she might be in the vicinity of Warsaw Falls.
Police said the woman’s father told them he received a text message from his daughter, which led him to believe she was at that location.
When officers searched that area they located footprints leading to the edge of the top of the waterfall. They then discovered the woman, a 20-year-old, floating in the gorge below the waterfall.
Police believe it was a suicide, and an autopsy is scheduled to determine the cause of death.
