Docteur Gary F. Docteur, 61, of Tonawanda, died Sunday, Jan. 15, 2012.

Mr. Docteur was born in Cape Vincent, N.Y., and graduated from Oswego State College with a bachelor’s degree in history.

He was an assistant district manager of the Buffalo Social Security office and received the Social Security Administration’s Regional Commissioner’s Citation in 2001.

Mr. Docteur was a collector of antique tools. He enjoyed researching his family’s genealogy, woodworking and restoring antique furniture and tools.

He is survived by his wife, Cynthia (nee Castor), and one daughter, Nicole. He was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers.

A memorial service was held on Saturday, Jan. 21, at the Amigone Funeral Home.
