Every Tongue Confess — Marcus Gardley’s dramatic musical that takes place in the summer heat of 103° and rising, while hailstones are falling and melting into the arid ground and a string of churches have been set on fire in the backwater town of Boligee, Ala. These all combine to drive the townsfolk to distraction while all wrapped in music of a deep south juke joint and the sweat-soaked gospel music of a revivalist tent church.
