Woman sets off alarm while spraying her legs

Friday, Jan. 27

A vehicle was tagged for parking on the sidewalk along Euclid Avenue.

A male reported receiving a phone call from a middle school staff member who claimed that his 14-year-old daughter never showed up for school. The male asked that police check his residence to see if his daughter was there. An officer reported that there was no answer at the residence and that the owner said he would be at the home in 15 minutes to see if his daughter was there. The daughter was located inside the home, and an officer transported her to school.

Saturday, Jan. 28

An officer reported that an intoxicated male who was walking on Wardman Road was transported to his Wendover Avenue address where he was turned over to his father.

Two males in their 20s wearing dark hoodies reportedly dropped garbage in the roadway and continued walking along Mang Avenue toward Elwood Avenue. An officer located the subjects on Victoria Boulevard. One of the males said he had dropped his coffee can, which had contained soup, in the street. He was advised not to throw garbage in the street.

Sunday, Jan. 29

A female Courier Boulevard resident reported that she accidently activated her smoke detector while spraying medicine on her legs and that she can’t stop the alarm from ringing. An officer reported that a fresh set of batteries was placed in the alarm and the ringing ceased.

A female reported that her friend’s purse was stolen from a Buffalo bar the previous evening. The woman then stated that she was able to track the location of a cellphone that was in the purse because the phone had GPS. She notified police as to where the phone was located, and officers were able to retrieve it from a woman who claimed she was not involved with the theft.

Monday, Jan. 30

A female West Hazeltine Avenue resident reported that her friend took some of her movies and left the residence on foot toward Eugene Avenue. Officers were unable to locate the subject. The complainant said she wasn’t concerned about the movies but wanted to make police aware of the incident.

Town of Tonawanda police requested assistance in locating a male wearing a black jacket, black ski mask and red gloves, and allegedly displayed a small handgun while stealing money from a female during a robbery in the Sheridan Drive/Military Road area. Officers were unable to locate the subject.

Tuesday, Jan. 31

There was a complaint that two males were involved in a drug transaction on Argonne Drive. An officer reported that one of the males was located, and he stated that the other male owed him money. The officer added that it appeared everything checked out OK.

Wednesday, Feb. 1

A security guard at a Colvin Boulevard business reported that a red cab ran the red light and struck a pole near a pharmacy before attempting to leave the scene. An officer reported that there was a pole down, but the accident occurred on the Buffalo side so Buffalo police would have to handle it.

Thursday, Feb. 2

A Kenmore Avenue woman reported that her daughter heard someone attempting to enter her residence in the night through a window. The complainant added that there were empty beer bottles left near the window. An officer reported that it appeared that somebody at a nearby residence was drinking wine coolers in the driveway, and that’s what the complainant’s daughter had heard. The officer added that it didn’t appear that an attempted burglary occurred at that residence.
