Support group available for widowed women

Support group meetings for widowed women of all ages will be held from 1:30 to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 1 at the YWCA Tonawandas, 49 Tremont St. North Tonawanda. There is no fee. The group will meet every first Thursday of each month: March 7, April 4, May 2 and June 6. Contact Susie Sheron at the YWCA to register, 692-5580.

Garden club features color coordination

Kenmore Garden Club will feature a Power Point Presentation by Babbidean Huber, master gardener and New York State Horticulture judge, who will tell participants how to plan a color coordinated garden during its meeting that begins at 10 a.m. on Feb. 14 at Kenmore United Methodist Church, 32 Landers Road, Kenmore.

Chicken BBQ set for Feb. 19

The Kenmore Volunteer Fire Department will hold its 16th annual chicken barbecue from 11:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 19. The cost is $8 presale per dinner or $8.50 the day of the event. Tickets can be purchased at the fire hall located at 16 Nash Road, Kenmore. Call Mark at 876-7748 to have tickets delivered. Take out available.

Valentine’s Day luncheon planned at church

The Faith United Methodist Women will hold their annual Valentine Luncheon on Saturday, Feb. 11 at the church, 5505 Broadway, Lancaster. A silent auction and bake sale will begin at noon with the luncheon beginning at 12:30 p.m. Chicken casserole, vegetable, cranberry salad and cheesecake with cherries are on the menu. Ring Masters Handbell Choir, directed by Gloria Werblow, will perform. The cost is $8 and funds mission work. Paid reservations are needed by Feb. 5. KVIS seeks public input at monthly meetings

Kenmore Village Improvement Society holds its general membership meetings at 7 p.m. the second Monday of each month at the Community Center in Mang Park, 135 Wilbur Ave., Kenmore. Jamboree to benefit Variety Kids Telethon

Marcy’s 19th Annual Variety Kids Telethon Jamboree will be held from 1 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 19 at Page’s Paradise Island, 4701 Transit Road, Depew. Music will be provided by several live acts. Food, raffles, prices, a Chinese auction, a silent auction and more will be offered. Tickets cost $12 pre-sale or $15 at the door. Children under 12 admitted free. Tonawanda native performing at GCC

The Genesee Community College Center for the Arts will present Tonawanda native Ramblin’ Lou Schriver’s Family Band at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 19 in the Stuart Steiner Theatre at Genesee Community College in Batavia.
