Thank you to those who attend events

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the residents of the Kenilworth Fire District community and the surrounding areas.

For the past seven years we have put on a Fish Fry Friday during the season of Lent and year after year everyone keeps coming back. We have been on several newscasts proclaiming us as the best fish fry in town, and who am I to disagree.

Quite frankly, I’m sure the overwhelming amount of people that come in for dinner would be more than happy to back up that statement. The money raised during this event ultimately is given back to the community throughout the year in various ways. We are proud to support many charities, local churches, and other events in our community.

Plus, every year we put on a kids Halloween parade and haunted house with prizes as well. We are also proud to have Santa visit for his annual Santa ride that goes throughout the district on Christmas Eve.

In addition, our fire prevention team is happy to spend countless hours each year teaching younger people the importance of fire safety. We have also started up another tradition that will be going on for years to come and that is our annual food drive to help those in need.

In closing, the 70-plus members of the Kenilworth Fire Department would like to say thank you very much for your continued support. We look forward to seeing everyone again next year beginning on Ash Wednesday and continuing every Friday night throughout the season of Lent.
