Scholarship Run to honor Lou Reuter

The annual Lou Reuter Memorial Scholarship Run and Walk will be held starting at 8:30 a.m. on Oct. 13 at Kenmore East High School, 350 Fries Road, Tonawanda. The entry fee is $20; $10 for students who are under 20 years of age. Register online at buffalorunner.com.

Service offers healing, hope for cancer patients

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Episcopal Diocese of Western New York is sponsoring a special evening service at its Diocesan Ministry Center at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 18th. Current breast cancer patients, survivors and their families and friends, and members of the medical community are welcome to join in this service. Galleria of Treats marks 18th year

The 18th annual Galleria of Treats will be held from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, in the new wing of the Walden Galleria in Cheektowaga. The trick-or-treating event for children will feature mascot heroes, a pumpkin patch and candy tables. The event is designed to be a safe alternative to street trick-or-treating. Haunted house set at St. Andrew’s Church

The third annual Starcc Raving Mad House is currently running from 6 to 10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and from 5 to 9 p.m. on Sundays through Oct. 28 at St. Andrew’s Church, Crocker and Reiman, Sloan. There is a $5 donation for adults and a $3 donation for children 12 and under.

Singles Club meets at Knights of Columbus

Singles Friendship Club hosts its monthly pot luck from 6 to 9:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month at Knights of Columbus in the Continental Room, 1530 Kenmore Ave., Buffalo. Admission is $10 presale and $15 at the door. Call Paul at 883-2139 for more information.

Church craft show needs vendors

Red Cross offering babysitting training

The YWCA Tonawandas will host an American Red Cross Babysitter’s Training Class on Saturday, Oct. 20, at the YWCA Tonawandas, 49 Tremont St., North Tonawanda. The training will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is for youth ages 11 through 15. Class fee is $85 and space is limited. Registration and payment must be received no later that Oct. 15. Regional Theatre Guild to present ‘1776’

The Niagara Regional Theatre Guild will present the musical “1776” through Oct. 14 at the Ellicott Creek Playhouse, 530 Ellicott Creek Road.
