Lori E. Gibson, former assistant director of judicial affairs


Gibson Gibson Lori Elizabeth Gibson, formerly of Williamsville, died Sunday, April 12, 2015. She was 56.

Ms. Gibson graduated from Williamsville North in 1976. Later, she earned a business degree and a master’s degree in student personnel administration from Buffalo State College, as well as a second master’s degree in counselor education from Canisius College.

Her love for education was evident throughout her life. She worked at numerous higher learning institutions, including Buffalo State, the University of New Hampshire and Rutgers University. In 1990, she relocated to Ft. Lewis College in Durango, Colorado. She later worked at the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley. Starting in 2004, she worked at the University of Colorado as the assistant director of judicial affairs.

Ms. Gibson was also a resident director and union activities director for the Semester at Sea program. Her travels took her to Japan, China, Vietnam, Cambodia, India, Kenya, Thailand and South Africa.

Upon her death, she was employed at Horizon Health Services in Niagara Falls.

She is survived by her father, James; her mother, Gloria; and one sister, Deborah. Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday, May 17, at St. Michael’s & All Angels Episcopal Church, 81 Burke Drive, Buffalo.
