Focus on fiscal fitness and fantastic food this fall

Chamber of Commerce Executive Director
TRACEY LUKASIK

Open enrollment will soon be upon us. Businesses and their employees can still obtain health insurance policies through the Ken-Ton Chamber by contacting 874-1202.

In addition, the Chamber has partnered with Stafford, LLC, also known as Student Forms, allowing us to offer a service that can explain and simplify your path to the William D. Ford Act — passed by Congress in 2007 — which could reduce loan payments and in some cases allow you to realize loan forgiveness of thousands of dollars in student loan debt. Student Forms works with you and assumes the headache of weeding through the tedious, three-month federal government application process.

We encourage you to call 1-844-867-2269 for an initial free consultation, and be sure to mention the Ken-Ton Chamber for a special discount rate on its services.

Time is running out to get your raffle ticket for a chance to Stamp Out Hunger and win a year of free dining. Tickets cost $10 and can be purchased at the Chamber office, located at 3411 Delaware Ave., or at Evans Bank, located at 2800 Niagara Falls Blvd.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit Ken-Ton Meals on Wheels. The winner will be chosen by random draw at the Dec. 16 luncheon. The winner need not be present.

The lucky winner will receive 12 $50 gift certificates to the following restaurants: Shannon Pub, Russell’s, Buffalo Roadhouse, Dinosaur BBQ, 800 Maple, Mes Que, Marotto’s, Amici, Encore, Chrusciki Bakery, Fat Bob’s, Jovi’s and The Grapevine.

The Chamber welcomes and encourages patronage of the following new members: PGM Jewelers, Elderwood Assisted Living and Capital Asset Recovery Inc. We would love to welcome you and your business to the Chamber. Call 874-1202 or visit www.ken-ton.org for information on joining.

For new businesses or grand openings, the Chamber will visit your location to assist with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and photographs and invite local dignitaries, along with fellow Chamber members. It’s a great way to introduce yourself to the community.

This month we cut ribbons for Total Automotive, Checkers Restaurant and Crista Dashnaw/Farmers Agency. Refreshments, fun and networking were enjoyed by all in attendance.

Have a safe and happy Halloween.
