BlueCross BlueShield to launch podcast series
BlueCross BlueShield of Western New York recently launched “Point of Health,” a free audiocast featuring thought leaders in health care and the health insurance industry.
According to a press release, the company is the first local health plan to launch an audiocast. The program will offer listeners a variety of perspectives on key topics and issues in the rapidly changing health care industry.
Listeners can access 15-minute episodes of Point of Health bimonthly through BlueCross BlueShield’s website, bcbswny.com/pointofhealth.
According to the release, podcasting is now the fastest-growing means of communication on the internet, with one in five Americans now listening to a podcast monthly, a 23 percent increase between 2015 and 2016.
The premiere episode of Point of Health, “Six Easy Steps for Better Health in 2017,” features insights from Dr. Thomas Schenk, senior vice president and chief medical officer at BlueCross BlueShield of Western New York.
Point of Health’s host and BlueCross BlueShield’s vice president of corporate relations, Julie R. Snyder, said the program will allow the company to share information and connect with listeners on trends and issues in the ever-changing health care and insurance industry.
Future episodes will post twice a month.
