School board candidates file petitions for election

Two candidates had filed petitions for two seats on the Kenmore-Town of Tonawanda Board of Education by Monday’s deadline.

The candidates are incumbent Jill O’Malley of Kenmore and Michelle Tarbox, also of Kenmore.

Board member Christopher Pashler is not running for re-election. His term and O’Malley’s current term will expire on June 30.

In the Sweet Home High School District, there are three candidates running for two seats.

The candidates are incumbent Marianne Jasen, Michelle Mauger and Jennifer Poydock.

Board member Douglas Galli is not running for re-election. His term and Jasen’s current term will expire on June 30.

Residents in both school districts will have the opportunity to vote for school board candidates and the 2017-18 budgets on Tuesday, May 16.
