Chamber starts KenTonOpoly, seeks golfers

Chamber of Commerce Executive Director
TRACEY LUKASIK

KenTonOpoly is underway. The Ken-Ton Chamber of Commerce is delighted to announce the launch of its first interactive KenTonOpoly game.

When you make a purchase at one of our participating merchants, you will obtain a game piece. Game pieces may contain coupons or instant win “moolah cash” redeemable at participating merchants. Similar to the real Monopoly, if you collect all the “properties” of the same color, you will be entered to win the prize package for that monopoly.

Game rules, participating merchants, prize package descriptions and more detailed information can be found online at www.ken-ton.org or by contacting the Chamber office at 874-1202. The Chamber would like to thank this year’s official GameMaster sponsor, Franco’s Pizza.

The Chamber is also seeking golfers for our annual tournament to be held on Wednesday, Aug. 30, at Sheridan Park Golf Course, with an after party at the NOCO pavilion. The tourney is open to everyone, so make your reservation soon to assure you don’t miss this fun-filled day on the green.

With warmer weather on the way, the Chamber wants to make residents and businesses aware of National Grid’s Cool Control program, offering free technology to help you save on electricity this summer. It also has a new feature: dehumidifiers.

Just like with your window or central AC, you can now get devices to control your dehumidifier from your phone, monitor electricity use, and set on/off schedules. National Grid is giving out $50 or more for every appliance that participates in the program. More than a 1,000 households and businesses in the community signed up last summer to earn rewards and help the community use electricity more wisely.

Want to see what it found so interesting? Learn more by visiting www.ngrid.com/coolcontrol.

Lastly, we congratulate Crista Dashnaw and her team at the Dashnaw Farmers Insurance Agency in Kenmore, who were honored at the Small Business

Administration’s Business Awards luncheon on May 12.

We also warmly welcome The Zenger Group as our newest Chamber member.
