Budget, Board of Education election results

The Kenmore-Town of Tonawanda School District budget vote and Board of Education election took place on Tuesday.

Residents of the district voted on two propositions: the proposed 2017-18 school district budget and the annual bus purchase. They also voted on candidates for two seats on the Board of Education.

According to the district, the budget was approved with 1,185 votes and the bus purchase with 1,105 votes. 

There are two terms on the Board of Education that will begin July 1, 2017 and end June 30, 2020.

The seats will go to the two candidates who received the highest number of votes, according to the district. They were Jill O’Malley, current Board of Education president, who received 1,278 votes, and Michelle Tarbox, who received 1,250 votes. They ran unopposed.
