Carrousel Museum to offer free Wednesdays

The Herschell Carrousel Factory Museum will be offering free admission for several Wednesdays in July and August due to the generosity of local businesses, according to a press release from the museum.

The next free day of the season will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, July 12, at 180 Thompson St. in North Tonawanda. It is being sponsored by Budwey’s Super Market.

According to the release, there will be no free day during Canal Fest and on any Wednesdays without a sponsor. Additional free days scheduled are July 26 and Aug. 2, 16 and 23.

Interested individuals can check the museum website calendar for the accurate schedule.

Although admission is free, visitors will have to pay 50 cents per token to ride the carousels and the rides in Kiddieland Testing Park. This program allows families to visit often at a low cost to them, according to the release.

The museum’s regular hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday. Admission to the museum also includes admission to Kiddieland, which is open Wednesday through Sunday.
