Teddy Bear Picnic set at museum

The Herschell Carrousel Factory Museum will hold its annual Teddy Bear Picnic from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 10, at 180 Thompson St. in North Tonawanda. At the event, families can enjoy crafts, games, stories and carrousel rides with their stuffed animals. Snacks will be provided for all guests. Admission is $6 per person and $5 for members. There is no charge for children younger than 2.

Library to host solar eclipse event

A solar eclipse program will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. Monday, Aug. 21, at the City of Tonawanda Public Library, 333 Main St. The last time a total eclipse crossed the U.S. from sea to sea was June 8, 1918. In partnership with the Buffalo State College Ferguson Planetarium, the library will provide 45 pairs of eclipse viewing glasses to observe a partial eclipse. Contact the library at 693-5043 to reserve a spot.
