Preparation course available at O’Hara

Cardinal O’Hara High School is offering class options for its scholarship and entrance exam preparation course.

The preparation course is designed to help a student raise his or her score on the Nov. 18 exam that could lead to earning a higher possible scholarship.

It will take place from 5 to 7:15 p.m. Tuesdays Oct. 24 and 31, and Nov. 7 and 14, at the school, 39 O’Hara Road in the Town of Tonawanda. The cost is $100.

A one-day intensive class will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4, also at O’Hara. The cost is $70.

Participants in each course will receive a 620-page review book with practice materials to help in developing skills for success in major test areas, such as reading comprehension, math and English. Students will learn key test-taking tips and strategies.

Pizza and a beverage will be provided on the last day of the weekly course and lunch on the one-day class.

The scholarship and entrance exam on Nov. 18 will begin promptly at 8:30 a.m. at O’Hara. A special parents information session will also take place at 11 a.m.

Doug Buczak, director of admissions, will present important application, enrollment, financial aid and tuition assistance information.
