Kenmore Garden Club sets next meeting

The Kenmore Garden Club will hold a business meeting at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14, at Kenmore United Methodist Church, 32 Landers Road. After the meeting, Erin Bauer, an avid gardener and graphic designer, will demonstrate three dried floral holiday designs, which will be raffled off. Guests are welcome. On Nov. 21, Garden Therapy will meet at McAuley Residence to help clients make a fall wreath.

Solarize Tonawanda workshop planned

The next Solarize Tonawanda workshop will take place at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8, at the Kenmore Community Center, 135 Wilber Ave. The community campaign aims to help incentivize and promote the development and installation of solar electric systems by owners of residential properties in the town. Jim Pierce benefit slated on Nov. 11

A benefit for the family of the late Jim Pierce will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, at the Gratwick Hose Fire Company No. 6, 110 Ward Road, North Tonawanda. Tickets cost $25 for ages 21 and up, and $10 for those younger. Admission includes draft beer, wine, soft drinks and snacks. A cash bar for bottled beer and liquor will also be available. There will be a basket raffle, 50/50 and music. To purchase tickets to the event, contact Lori Overdorf at 207-2824.

Auxiliary to hold children’s book sale

The Kenmore Mercy Hospital Auxiliary will make Susie’s children’s books available for sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14, in the atrium of the hospital, at 2950 Elmwood Ave., Kenmore.
