Riverside FCU donates money to Ten Lives

The Riverside Federal Credit Union, at 3199 Delaware Ave. in Kenmore, looks for ways to give back and support local nonprofits every quarter.

Last quarter, Riverside FCU decided to assist Ten Lives Club by donating $2,500 to assist with the cost of care, treatment, supplies and operation of the 1,800-plus cats/kittens that are taken into the TLC program each year.

The Riverside FCU raises money by selling candy bars at its desks and counters, and donates the money collected each quarter to a nonprofit of its choosing.

Stefanie Rew-Hazel of Lakeview and Tracy Landahl of North Tonawanda, both employees of the RFCU, personally came to Ten Lives’ Main Shelter on Route 5 in Blasdell to present the $2,500 check on behalf of their employees and members of the credit union who purchased candy bars.

According to the Ten Lives’ Club veterinary staff, they were thrilled with this donation, as it allows the purchase of necessary medications, vaccinations and treatment needed to care for all the cats in TLC care.

“The generosity of the employees and members who helped with this contribution will benefit the numerous cats we take in as they transition from surrender to adoption,” said Dr. Sharon Fisk, a TLC veterinary.
