The Cardinal O’Hara boys varsity bowling team is off to a strong start to the 2012-13 season with a 3-3 record after two matches. Even though they lost to St. Joe’s, 2-1, it was the first time they took a game from St. Joe’s in over four years. Leading the way for O’Hara was freshman Justin Sokolowski (233-609), Mike Morehouse (232-582) and Jake Shapiro (213-569).

The Kenmore West Athletic Hall of Fame Selection Committee is accepting nominations for the Induction Class of 2013. Individuals may be nominated in three categories: Athlete, Coach/Administrator and Honorary. To be eligible, athletes must be from the Class of 2006 or earlier, while coaches must be retired from the district for at least two years. Nominations must be sent to Kenmore West High School in care of assistant principal Joe Greco (874-8401) by May 3.

The Section VI Football Federation will present the 2012 College Football Recruiting Night at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, in the Buffalo Bills Healthy Zone Fieldhouse. Erie Community College will host two six-week baseball camps at the North Campus in Buffalo starting Jan. 26 and the South Campus in Orchard Park starting Jan. 27. Both locations are directed by Erie Community College head coach Joe Bauth in conjunction with U.S. Baseball Academy. Classes are available for players in grades 1-12 and are limited to six players per coach. Sessions are offered in advanced hitting, pitching, catching, fielding and base running at a cost as low as $99 for six weeks. Space is limited. Registration is underway.
