Halloween parades slated for Thursday, Friday

Fire departments throughout Ken-Ton will host Halloween parades, co-sponsored by the Town of Tonawanda Youth, Parks and Recreation Department, featuring a variety of activities.

The Ellwood Fire Company will hold its parade at 6 p.m. Thursday. The parade will form at 5:30 p.m. at Highland Plaza and proceed to Ellwood Fire Hall, 1000 Englewood Ave., where there will be a costume contest with games, gift bags and entertainment. Refreshments will be provided.

The Kenilworth Fire Company will hold its parade on Friday. It will assemble at 5:30 p.m. at the Kenilworth playground, located at Ford and Hawthorne avenues, and will proceed down Hawthorne to Kenilworth Avenue and then to the fire hall, located at 84 Hawthorne. A costume contest will be held, and there will be treats.

The Kenmore Volunteer Fire Department’s parade will also be Friday. It will begin at 6 p.m. at the intersection of Wardman and Delaware roads. It will proceed north on Delaware to the fire hall, located at 16 Nash Road.

Brighton Fire Company will also hold its parade Friday. It will assemble at 5:45 p.m. at Alexander Hamilton School, located at 44 Westfall Drive. It will proceed east on St. Amelia Drive to Braxmar, then to Jamaica Road and to the fire hall, located at 50 Jamaica. There will be a costume contest, and refreshments will be served.
