Holiday Bag Sale slated for Dec. 6 at church

First Presbyterian Church will hold a bag sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, at the church, 149 Broad St. Attendees can fill up a bag for $2. Proceeds benefit local charities.

Kenmore Garden Club to hold Christmas luncheon

The Kenmore Garden Club’s Christmas luncheon, “All Dolled Up for Christmas” will be held Tuesday, Dec. 9, at Classics V Banquet & Conference Center, 2425 Niagara Falls Blvd. Donations from the event will be made to the James V. Ryan Paramedic Foundation and to the Ken-Ton Meals on Wheels.

Zonta Club of Kenmore to hold fundraiser Dec. 7

The Zonta Club of Kenmore will hold a pancake breakfast from 8 to 10 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 7, at Zebb’s, 2875 Niagara Falls Blvd. Tickets are $6. All proceeds will be donated to the “Zonta Says No - Violence Against Women Campaign.” For tickets, contact Karen Fritsch at 418-4167.

Book sale to be held at hospital

A winter book sale will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 9-10 in the atrium at Kenmore Mercy Hospital, 2950 Elmwood Ave. An assortment of books for children and adults, as well as many gift items, will be on sale.

Group for widowed people to meet Dec. 7

New Beginnings For Widowed People, open to all widowed people in Western New York, will meet at 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7, in Fr. Cotter Hall at Blessed Sacrament Church, 263 Claremont Ave., Town of Tonawanda, for a Christmas party. Entertainment will be provided by Joe Donahue. Guests pay $3. Registration open for holiday care program

YWCA Tonawandas Holiday Care program for 5- to 12-year-olds will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Dec. 22, 23, 26, 29 and 30 and Jan. 2. The YWCA Holiday Care at 49 Tremont St., North Tonawanda, offers child care and enrichment activities for elementary school children in kindergarten through grade five. ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’ slated for December

The Christmas classic “It’s A Wonderful Life,” adapted from the Frank Capra film by James W.Rodgers, will be presented at the Ghostlight Theatre, 170 Schenck St. in North Tonawanda, at 7 p.m. on Dec. 4 and 11; at 8 p.m. Dec. 5, 6, 12 and 13; and at 2 p.m. Dec. 7 and 14. Tickets are $17 general admission and $15 for veterans, students and seniors. Tickets may be reserved online at www.starrynighttheatre.com or by calling the Ghostlight Theatre at 743-1614.

Freudig Singers to present concert

The Freudig Singers of Western New York will present “A Christmas Pie” concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, at Kenmore Presbyterian Church, 2771 Delaware Ave., and at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7, at Blessed Trinity Church, 317 Leroy Ave., Buffalo.
