Spaghetti dinner to take place Feb. 7 at school

St. Francis of Assisi School will host a spaghetti dinner and theme tray raffle from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, at the school, 70 Adam St. Dinner is $7 for adults and $4 for children ages 4-10. Children younger than 3 are free. For more information, call 693-1150.

Chicken barbecue slated for Feb. 15 at fire hall

The Kenmore Volunteer Fire Department will hold its annual chicken barbecue from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 15, at the fire hall, 16 Nash Road. Tickets can be purchased from any member of the fire department or at the fire department. Tickets are $9 presale or $10 at the door. The meal is drive-through only.

Red Cross blood donations to take place

A variety of Red Cross blood donations are slated to take place throughout Kenmore and the Town of Tonawanda in February. The following times, dates and locations are where they’re slated: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 6, at Medco Supply, 500 Fillmore Ave; 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, at Dunkin’ Donuts, 2200 Sheridan Drive; and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 15, at Family Video, 1971 Colvin Blvd.

St. Mary’s schedules Feb. 4 open house

St. Mary’s Elementary School will hold an open house, with tours available, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4, at 2 St. Mary’s Hill, Lancaster. The open house will be for parents of children planning to attend full-day prekindergarten 3 and 4, and students in kindergarten through eighth grade. Ken-Sheriton Garden Club to meet

The Ken-Sheriton Garden Club will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 576 Delaware Road. The program will be presented by Babbidean Huber, a master gardener with Cornell Cooperative Extension. Her program is titled “Bringing the Outside Inside.” A business meeting will follow. Kenmore Mercy Auxiliary to hold events

The Kenmore Mercy Hospital Auxiliary will hold a costume jewelry sale from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 6, in the atrium at the hospital, 2950 Elmwood Ave. A scrubs sale will be held from 7 a.m to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11. A children’s book sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 12.

KVIS Valentine’s Day Celebration to take place

The Kenmore Village Improvement Society will host a free Valentine’s Day Celebration event from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, at the Mang Park Cultural Center, 425 Mang Ave. There will be ice skating and music, in addition to food trucks, games and crafts. Schofield Residence to show artwork

The Schofield Residence, located at 3333 Elmwood Ave., will be showcasing the artwork of the Kenmore Art Society. February features a variety of textured acrylics by Susan Hohl. Hohl’s work will also include traditional landscapes, photographs, watercolors and oils through Feb. 28. The exhibits are free and available for viewing from 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. weekends and holidays.

Kidney education class slated for Feb. 26

A free educational class on kidney health will take place at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 26, in Room 621 at Kenmore Mercy Hospital, 2950 Elmwood Ave. Attendees will learn how kidneys function and the causes of chronic kidney disease, in addition to how medications, diet and nutrition work together to help keep kidneys healthy. Kenmore Garden Club to meet Feb. 10

The Kenmore Garden Club will meet next at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10, at Kenmore United Methodist Church, 32 Landers Road. Linda Blyth, co-owner of Song ‘n Bird Gardens, will give a presentation titled “Roots,” about starting plants from seeds.

Wine tasting and Italian dinner fundraiser slated

A wine tasting and dinner fundraiser is slated to take place at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 6, at the Ramada Hotel, 2404 N. Forest Road. It is a fundraiser for scholarships for students at the University at Buffalo. The dinner and wine pairing event will feature Italian food and wine and a basket auction and raffle. The cost is $65. Checks may be made out to the UB Women’s Club and mailed to Betty Schaertel at 10 Crestwood Court Tonawanda, NY 14150 by the Jan. 28 deadline. For more information, call 807-0289.
