Spring plant sale set for May 18

The Kenmore Mercy Hospital Auxiliary will hold its spring plant sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, May 18, in the front lobby, at 2950 Elmwood Ave. The auxiliary will be offering a variety of hanging baskets and potted plants. Proceeds will benefit the hospital.

Tree planting, award presentation planned

The Kenmore Garden Club, with the Town of Tonawanda and the Commission for the Conservation of the Environment, will celebrate Arbor Day at 9 a.m. Thursday, May 18, at the Paramount Triangle, at Colvin Boulevard. Three donated trees will be planted, and the Town of Tonawanda will be presented with the 20th Tree City USA Award.

Buffalo Choral Arts to present concert

The Buffalo Choral Arts Society, a 110-member community chorus under the direction of Marcia A. Giambrone, with accompanist John Mitton, will present “Accent on Broadway,” at 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 19, at the Riviera Theatre, 67 Webster St. in North Tonawanda. Tickets to the show cost $15 each and are available at www.buffalochoralarts.org or by calling 775-7664.

Plant sale planned at church for May 20

A plant sale will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 20, at St. John the Baptist Church, 3275 Elmwood Ave., Kenmore. The Buffalo Branch No. 97 of the Ukrainian National Women’s League of America is sponsoring a perennial and herb plant sale.

Festival Chorus schedules concert

The Festival Chorus will present “Sing Praise! A Concert of Sacred Favorites and Hymn Sing” at 4 p.m. Sunday, May 21, at Kenmore Presbyterian Church, 2771 Delaware Ave. Tickets cost $8 presale and $10 at the door. For tickets, call 698-3206.

Lions Club plans carnations event

The Kenmore Lions Club is holding its 2017 “Carnations for Sight” kickoff from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 24, at Budway’s Market, 535 Division St., North Tonawanda. The event will continue from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, May 25, and Friday May 26, and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 27. The proceeds will benefit the Kenmore Lions Club projects for the sight and hearing impaired. It is a donation of $1 for a carnation.

Free rabies clinic set for May 24

A free rabies clinic is scheduled from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 24, at the Town of Tonawanda Highway Garage, 450 Woodward Ave., off Military Road in Tonawanda. The clinic is organized by the county Department of Public Health, in partnership with the Niagara Frontier Veterinary Society, the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Serving Erie County and Medaille Veterinary Technology.
