Museum to hold STEM Week Aug. 21-25

Back to STEM Week will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Aug. 21, to Friday, Aug. 25, at the Herschell Carrousel Factory Museum, 180 Thompson St. in North Tonawanda.

Participants can get ready for the school year with a variety of STEM activities at the museum. Each day will highlight a different activity related to the museum’s field trip curriculum.

STEM stands for science, technology, engineering and math.

The schedule of events includes:

Monday: Attendees will learn about electricity with squishy circuits.

Tuesday: Participants will build their own marble run roller coaster with foam tubing.

Wednesday: Free Admission Wednesday, which is not part of STEM Week.

Thursday: Attendees can make a DIY lava lamp.

Friday: Participants can build their own cardboard automata carousel animal.

Teachers with valid identification will receive free admission during Back to STEM week.

Regular admission prices will apply. The cost is $7 for adults; $3.50 for children 2 to 16; and no charge for children younger than 2.
