Incumbents lead Town Board vote

The Democratic incumbents on the Tonawanda Town Board had a comfortable lead over their  Republican challengers two hours after the polls closed on Tuesday night.
 With 45 percent of the vote in and 34 of 75 districts reporting, the unofficial results from the Erie County Board of Elections had Councilwoman Lisa Chimera as the top vote-getter at 4,976, followed by Councilmen Bill Conrad with 4,734 and  John Bargnesi Jr. with 4,675.
 Challengers Damon Piatek tallied 2,706; Paul D. Christian, 2,604; and Charles Sankey, 2,413.
