Junior League seeks scholarship applicants

The Junior League of Buffalo will award two $2,000 scholarships to graduating female high school seniors who are outstanding leaders in the Western New York community, the group announced on Monday.

The scholarships are given to post-high school institutions to assist the student in defraying expenses for tuition, books, fees or housing. The scholarships are awarded based on evidence of demonstrated leadership skills within the student’s school and community. Additionally, the student’s background should show strong evidence of being well-rounded in both personal and academic endeavors.

Interested students can visit www.jlbuffalo.org to access the application package containing guidelines and required forms. Alternatively, prospective applicants unable to access the internet can call the Junior League of Buffalo’s headquarters at 884-8865 to request a packet.

All potential applicants must submit applications by Feb. 28 via the website. Questions regarding application requirements should be addressed to Cindi McEachon at 884-8865 or cmceachon@gmail.com.
