Players and volunteers wanted for youth basketball tournament

The Town of Tonawanda 3-on-3 Youth Basketball Tournament will take place March 3 at Kenmore West High School. This tournament is run by the Town of Tonawanda Youth Board with support from the Town of Tonawanda Police Department and Village of Kenmore Police Department.

This free tournament is for students in grades seven through 12 who live in and/or attend school in the Town of Tonawanda or Village of Kenmore; there will be both boys and girls divisions.

“I used to participate in this tournament and now I’m helping to run it. I love that it brings both competitive and recreational basketball players together with fans and volunteers from the community,” said Chris Monaco, Youth Board member and basketball coach.

“Last year’s tournament was a huge success, and we’re fortunate enough to have generous sponsors and passionate volunteers to do it again this year,” said Dan Crangle, Councilman and Chairman of the Youth, Parks and Recreation Committee.

This event is free but preregistration is required. Teams of three or four players must register by Feb. 28 at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/3on3bball18.
