Auxiliary plans annual basket raffle

Sheridan Park Volunteer Fire Company Auxiliary will host its annual fundraising basket raffle from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, April 28, at 738 Sheridan Drive, Tonawanda. A beef sandwich plate in addition to french fries, a beverage and dessert will be served. There will also be more than 100 baskets that will be raffled off promptly at 6 p.m. Tickets are available at the door for a donation of $10. For more information, call 836-4782.

Support Group to meet on April 28

A Dizziness and Balance Support Group will meet at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 28, at the Kenmore Branch Library, 160 Delaware Road, Kenmore. The topic to be discussed is “Understanding Vestibular Disorders as an Invisible Chronic Illness.” Newcomers are welcome. For more information, call 838-3730 or email info@dizzygroup.org.

Alumni Committee sets rummage sale

St. Francis of Assisi’s Alumni Committee is sponsoring a rummage sale of gently used items on Saturday, April 28, in the School Hall, 70 Adam St., Tonawanda. Early bids will be admitted at 8 a.m. for $3, with regular admission of $1 beginning at 9 a.m. Refreshments will also be available. The sale ends at 1 p.m., and all proceeds will benefit St. Francis of Assisi Parish and Early Childhood Center.

Kenmore Garden Club sets next meeting

The Kenmore Garden Club will meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 8, at Kenmore United Methodist Church, 32 Landers Road. The speaker after the business meeting will be Lee Schreiner. She is a master gardener and the horticulture chairwoman for District 8, Federated Garden Clubs of New York State. Her topic will be “All About Herbs,” the history, meaning, growing and using of herbs. Also, club members will exchange May baskets of perennials shared from their own gardens.

Rummage sale scheduled at church

The Women’s Fellowship of Kenmore United Church of Christ will hold its spring rummage sale from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, April 26, at 295 Delaware Road. A $1 bag sale will also take place from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, April 27. For more information, call 875-1725.
