’60s pop group The Association coming to Riviera


Hit ’60s pop group The Association is coming to North Tonawanda’s Riviera Theatre in March. The band, whose hits include “Cherish” and “Never My Love,” has produced six gold albums, as well as three platinum and one double platinum album. Tickets are now on sale for a performance by ’60s pop group The Association, who will play North Tonawanda’s Riviera Theatre next spring.

The six-piece band, which made history in 1967 when it became the first act to open a rock festival — the now-historic Monterey International Pop Festival — will perform at 8 p.m. Saturday, March 9, in the theatre at 67 Webster St., North Tonawanda.

Tickets for the performance range from $29 to $39 and can be purchased online at https://rivieratheatre.org, by calling 692-2413 or by visiting the theatre’s box office. Doors for the show will open around 7 p.m.

One of the most successful bands to come out of the ’60s, The Association produced hits that include “Cherish,” “Never My Love,” “Windy,” “Along Comes Mary,” “Everything

That Touches You” and “Requiem For The Masses.”

The band has sold millions of records, tapes, CDs and DVDs over the years and has produced six albums that have been certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America. Another three albums have been certified platinum, and their album The Association Greatest Hits has gone double platinum.

The band has also been nominated for a total of seven Grammy Awards for “Cherish,” Windy,” “Never My Love” and “Insight Out,” as well as for one Golden Globe Award for “Goodbye Columbus.”
