Goodwill to reopen expanded store in Colvin-Eggert Plaza

Construction is almost complete at Goodwill of Western New York’s expanded 10,000-square-foot retail store and donation center in the Colvin-Eggert Plaza at 3177 Eggert Road, Tonawanda. The location will hold a grand opening and ribbon cutting at 9 a.m. Monday, Nov. 12.

The expansion adds 3,240 square feet to the store, which has been in existence since 2009.

The expanded retail location will feature the concept and layout that Goodwill has used in recent store remodels that includes signage and displays that better represent the Goodwill brand and mission.

The redesigns have elicited a positive reaction among shoppers, and one of the goals of redesigning the Colvin-Eggert Plaza location is to encourage donors to come inside the retail space to find new treasures, according to Eric Schwarz, Goodwill’s vice president of retail and donated goods.

“We’re really excited to open this expanded store and donation center,” he said. “We feel we’ve created a shopping and donation experience that is welcoming to everyone and also conveys the Goodwill mission. We want Western New Yorkers to know that their donations and purchases really make a difference — they help us change people’s lives through the power of work.”
