Kenmore Garden Club to meet Nov. 13

The Kenmore Garden Club will meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, in Kenmore United Methodist Church, 32 Landers Road, Kenmore. The meeting will include a visit from Carole Melnik, owner of Elma-based florist A Snail’s Place, who will demonstrate some new holiday design ideas.

American Legion band to play Riviera

The American Legion Band of the Tonawandas will present a Veterans Day concert at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, at the Riviera Theatre, 67 Webster St., North Tonawanda. The program includes selections such as John Philip Sousa’s “Power and Glory” and Count Basie’s “One O’Clock Jump.” Tickets are $16 and may be purchased at Walker Bros. & Monroe Jewelers, 84 Webster St., North Tonawanda; Mid-City Opticians, 968 Payne Ave., North Tonawanda; and the Tonawanda Senior Center, 35 Main St., Tonawanda.

Garden club holding porch pot workshop

The Ken Sheriton Garden Club is sponsoring a workshop titled “Building your own porch pot,” which will take place at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, in St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 576 Delaware Road, Kenmore. Participants will learn how to create a porch pot to brighten up their entranceway as gardens start to fade. Participants must bring $5 and their own pot.
